BIO
Jason Wang is a playwright/actor from Queens, NY who grew up playing with leftover legos in his room. Once it became clear that he would never win the LEGO Robotics competition, nor did he have the legos to do so--they proceeded to stage elaborate coming of age plays with whatever legos and lego people they had on hand. Jason's artistic journey resembles this tragedy-- eloping from STEM towards a career where he could use smarts and creativity in equal measure-- and operate from his bedroom. Since graduating from NYU Tisch Drama, he has made and performed a FREE political dating simulator (ft. Eric Adams x Andrew Yang), had a crush on a dragon girl, wrote several plays, been a scare actor at a Haunted House, and been an ensemble actor at a kids LARP camp. Here is a reverse-chronological list of some other stuff. HEAR US '23 Fellowship - (Workshopped STUY OR DIE), NYU Tisch '23 - (graduated with a 4.0 from art school please care), NYU All Asian Arts Alliance - ('22-'23 PRESIDENT! Asians! Art!), EMERGENYC'21 Fellowship - (Discovered he was non-binary and made RANKED CHOICE DATING), Co-Op Theatre East - (Writer and actor for Living Radio). |

Sometimes, their plays resemble slice-of-life anime- compiling weeks to years of charmingly mundane moments that will simmer, boil, and evaporate-- until only their nostalgic smells remain. Buzzwords include: Hope, healing, childhood adversity, inter-generational trauma, Asian-American, gay, etc.
